What is a SBC?
A 3CX Session Border Controller (SBC) is a service which you install in your local network that allows you to easily connect remote IP Phones to your 3CX instance in the cloud. The 3CX SBC delivers all SIP (signaling) and RTP (media) VoIP Packets to the cloud PBX, overcoming firewall and networking issues that affect reliability.
When to use a SBC?
You should use an SBC when you need to connect remote IP Phones, users or even separate 3CX Instances (bridge). The SBC allows you to connect all the above, regardless of location, to an office PBX located in the cloud. This also includes the 3CX apps and softphones for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.
